"ZOWIE DIVINA PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) International Women's Invitational Tournament sees advanced 48 athletes from Europe, America, and Asia-Pacific competing on the same grounds after the preliminaries. These players will participate in an offline finals at Shanghai, China from December 13th to 16th, showcasing the most professional women's eSport competition to the world."
Can you imagine that your school teacher is a badass gamer? That is exactly the case for Canadian female gamer Rockette. A full-time school teacher by day, Rockette is also a live streamer and a professional eSports athlete. Balancing her dual identities, she has become an idol for everyone ranging from her students, their parents, and her coworkers.
Rockette's enthusiasm for gaming began in high school, when she and her twin brother would play together. "I have played many games before, but I am especially fond of FPS shooting games. Whether CS:GO or PUBG, I love them all since I do a fairly good job in these games." Though she is a full-time teacher, Rockette has never given up on her passion for gaming. "I love being a teacher, and I love playing video games. They're both my passions and I have achieved a balance in them. I would play for approximately five hours after getting home on a work day, and up to 12 hours on holidays."
A highly skilled gamer, she often joins various competitions and has even participated in WESG. But ranking isn't the most important thing to Rockette, and she explains what she values, "Though it was indeed a major tournament, I am used to dealing with these things with a laid back attitude. I try not to pressure myself and to try my best to enjoy everything. This is how I feel for this tournament as well. Though there is a lot of stress associated with the competition, but I'm just enjoying the process."
For her participation in ZOWIE DIVINA PUBG International Women's Invitational Tournament, Rockette has taken a leave with her school, and informed the parents of her students and her coworkers. "This is the first time I have fully disclosed my identity to them, and I have explained the significance of this tournament to everyone. At first I was a little worried, but I was surprised to see that all parents are in full support of my decision. They have even said, 'Oh my god, you're like a role model to our kids!' My coworkers are also thrilled when they found out, and would look at me with admiration when I walk by, making me feel like a superstar!

"Though my family and coworkers still see eSports as merely playing video games," Rockette smiles wryly, "At the beginning my parents were somewhat worried that I was becoming to addicted to gaming and wanted me to go out more often. They often think that I've become too cooped up in my basement playing games, but I think if there could be more tournaments like ZOWIE DIVINA, someday they will get to know the eSports industry better and learn to embrace it with an open mind."
Nevertheless, Rockette explains that her students and their parents are all aware of her live stream and eSports business, and she would offer her support if one her students decides to pursue a career in this industry. Moreover, Rockette also encourages her students to consider diversified development. If they are interested in eSports, naturally, she would not hesitate in offering her advice, and she has even been invited to give speeches at girls' private school. "I want to be able to tell all girls, 'You can do whatever you want,' whether it is pilots, racers, eSports athletes, or any other occupation 'suitable for guys.' So go ahead and do whatever you want!"
