"ZOWIE DIVINA PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) International Women's Invitational Tournament sees advanced 48 athletes from Europe, America, and Asia-Pacific competing on the same grounds after the preliminaries. These players will participate in an offline finals at Shanghai, China from December 13th to 16th, showcasing the most professional women's eSport competition to the world."
MDY_Ting received her ticket to ZOWIE DIVINA by beating out all competition during the Chinese preliminaries, leading the rest of the players' scores by leaps and bounds. As a current professional player for the MDY team, not only does she have solid skills, but she has also attained unique insights to the game.
MDY_Ting showed off her astonishing prowess during the preliminaries in China. Like the popular saying "winner, winner, chicken dinner," she successfully racked up an extremely high score on the very first day of the competition with her deadly shooting, setting the pace for her winning streak. When we mentioned the preliminaries, she laughed and said she still couldn't believe what had happened, "Actually, I didn't expect myself to win, but I performed quite well and won chicken dinner on the very first game. I also played quite nicely throughout." Finally, she dominated the Chinese preliminaries, beating out the rest of the players by hundreds of points.
As a professional athlete for the MDY team, MDY_Ting has battled her way through various online competitions or recreational games. ZOWIE DIVINA is her very first official tournament. Having usually played with male teammates, she thinks males perform better in games, but women aren't necessarily weaker. "I think everything is possible with adequate training. I have also been looked down on before, but that only made me more eager to prove myself."

MDY_Ting acknowledges that there was a difference in terms of skills back when she was just starting out as a professional athlete, but she always tries her best, and she enjoys playing with her male teammates. When it comes to whether there is any difference between males and females in gameplay, MDY_Ting explains slowly and methodically, "I believe guys are more detail-oriented and do better than girls in this aspect. Often times, girls tend to get very nervous while playing, and they panic, which gets in the way of their performance."
From H1Z1 to PUBG, MDY_Ting's career in eSports has neither been disapproved nor approved by her parents. She says in self-mockery that she has been given "free reign" by her parents, but she also explains that they're very encouraging as long as it is something that she truly wants. Her parents wanted her to win this tournament when she signed up for it, showing their open-minded attitude, as well as reflecting Chinese parents' understanding for eSports. When it comes to the current development of the eSports industry in China, MDY_Ting says, "I believe the eSports industry in China has greatly improved and both adults and children alike are very familiar with eSports. And policies are also getting better. Though currently the hottest game in China is still League of Legends, the industry will definitely become more diversified in the future."
As for her toughest competition in the tournament, she believes that it will be the professional eSports athletes from the U.S.-based Pittsburgh Knights. After drawing lots, it is decided that MDY_Ting to team up with the beautiful French streamer "LittleBigWhale" during the demo rounds, and the two of them have also had some simple conversations, and hopefully they will perform well together. "I am super excited to be a part of ZOWIE DIVINA, and I still can't believe that this is really happening. Hopefully there will be more women-exclusive tournaments to come!"
